Default PPC vs. Print Ads

Please let me know if this is beating a dead horse. I looked around the forum and didn’t see anything that really compared the PPC and print advertising.

I have been marketing online for several years now and have been fairly successful. I normally do PPC’s and SE’s etc. With PPC’s I am reaching my target audience but it does cost me a lot to obtain 1 customer. I average 1 customer per 50 clicks. Which is not bad in my opinion.

Now I am thinking about doing more offline marketing through newspaper ads. One paper I am looking at can get my 1 x 1 ( about half the size of a business card ) ad showing 4 times a week in front of 1.5 million people for only $250. To me that is a great deal. I have no idea of what my conversion rate would be. I would think it was great it I got 1 customer per 100,000 people, about 15 new customers. Unless my math is wrong that is a .001 conversion rate. That is less then PPC but in the end would cost a ton less.

What do you think? Is that really high expectations? Anyone have any display ad experience that can give some feedback?
