As for electronic signatures, the federal government mandated some years ago that e-signatures had to be accepted at some point and in some form, thought I don't know any specifics (such as a regulatory citation.) I am regulated by Customs & Border Protection, and they have mandated, probably as far back as the late nineties, that e-signatures were acceptable, be it a printed name or a scanned signature. That being said, the court of jurisdiction might take a different view.
