Personally... if it were my assignment...
I would pick one business ... then i'd find out who's in business... i'd then call up that business and try to interview the owner. Tell them i'm a student doing some research for a paper. I was hoping to schedule a time when I could ask you a few questions about your business and your experiences as a business owner. Every business is unique..each industry has it's challenges. I think many start up companies would do a better plan for their company if they talked to those who are already doing it. Which is obviously what you're doing but get more specific. The owner of a hockey camp that's been in business for 20 years is going to know a lot more about what to put in a business plan for that specific industry than we would. I think it all comes down to hind sight being 20/20.
