Do not try to be all things to all people. If you are going to do computer repair, then do not do web design. People that require web design are extremely picky. Lots of work...lots of headache.

If you do not specialize in servers, then do not work on them. I deal with nearly 700 servers in 14 countries every day, and I see a bunch of people in my company with A+ certs come and go. Because you know how to work on a PC does not mean you know how to work on a server.

Earn basic certifications from major PC manufacturers - Dell, Apple, Gateway, Toshiba, IBM, etc. Regular computer users will not know what A+ and MCSE is. If someone is A+ or an MCSE, they will not use your service anyway.
A regular computer user can easily understand "Dell Certified Technician."
