Anyone can trade and sell goods in the UK to the general public. There are certain regulalations if you decide to offer credit. You do not have to be a limited company, although in some cases it helps.

If you do not decide to trade through a limited company then you have to advise the Inland Revenue that you have commenced trading. You can download these forms form the internet or simply call the Revenue. This is only the start of the process. I suggest that if you are serious about going into business that you get some professional advice from the outset. A good website to look at is the Government Business Link website.

Good luck with the business venture.
