Yes, I rent one. They come in all sizes, so drop by your local post office to see what each size means in practice. Be sure to choose the right size. If you want to get a bigger one later, that means a different box number, which is a different address, which means delays due to address forwarding. For a small box, I pay about US$50/year.
Some stores (e.g., the old MailBoxes Etc.) offer PO boxes. I didn't use them because you don't get the 24-hour access you do from a US post office. You should check with the Canadian post offices to see what access they provide.
