Hi, I am in the process of starting a business and I could really use your feedback. I hope this is an exceptable location to post this.

I have started a text ad business. The general idea is you as an advertiser comes and pays $20, $30, or $40. You create your text ad, and in turn place it on 3 sites for 30 days. The other side is Hosters, they sign up and are able to choose what ads whey wish to dispaly and the ads pay $1, $2, or $3 per ad. Hosters will end up with a "block" which will contain the 5 ads they picked. The price differences consist of page views. Catagories also play a role in things.

I am not out to scam folks out of their cash. I ran a small jewelry store on the web and I had the worst time finding valid advertising the fit into my budget. That inspired me, and here I am.

At the moment I have my page view broken down as
2k+ x3 = 6k
6K+ X3 = 12k
10K+ x3 = 30k

Please offer any opinions, ideas, criticisms.

Mostly i think the price for the ads is good, and the $$ paid out has room to go up if its low. The page view break down is where i am concerned. Is it to low, is it worth spening money on, things like that.

You know, I'm about to do something similar myself... a directory for freelancers. I think the only real problem is that there are so many of these types of sites out there. You did say you were going to specialize a little, but I'd look at specializing a LOT. Also, make sure that your prices aren't so low that you're not making any money, but not so high that no one will pay them. Most people aren't willing to pay for advertising unless there are stats for traffic and such. Have you sat down and looked at the different ways to build up that traffic before hand? I know that we're going to offer free advertising for the first 3 months. In order to hopefully build trafffic to the site. Also make sure you get a good domain name if you can. I am in no way an expert in these types of sites, but I'm learning with you....
