You guys know the kiosks that are situating in the middle of shopping mall lanes. Well i had an idea about having a kiosk that sells cookbooks, and every theme and country would have its seperately marked section ...like the books that have recepies solely from italy for example would have a section to itself called "ITALY", and so one, while thai recepie books for example, which are rarer, would be in a section marked international or soemthing. There will be sections for deserts, etc. This kiosk would also offer cooking cds and dvds.

Obviously bookstores carry cookbooks and all, and when someone really wants one they can easily find one. But how bout the people who dont have international recepies as a main priority, these woman (or men) will see this while walking in the mall, will maye stop out of curiosity and then while looking at all the variety they will inevitably get insparation to try something different for themselves or their families. I believe this is a very simple, low expense way to make a good profit.

You should do some research on the profitability on kiosk. I am sure some of them make some decent money, but for the most part I have heard that they fall pretty hard.

Unless you're set on dealing in hard-bound or binder-type books, you could do the same thing online with e-books.

In fact, online you could sell individual recipes for those that don't want an entire book. (Not a new idea, admittedly, but I doubt the market is glutted.)

I like the idea, but this in no way is "low expense". Renting a kiosk in a mall is extremely expensive. We're talking upwards of $6000 per month! Hopefully in your area it's not that bad, but you'd better make some phone calls before you get too excited. Do some research and write your business plan. It could work.

The problem is whever i mention this idea to people i know, they never take it seriously cuz they dont see what i see in it, and its my couisn who i neednto convince cuz hes looking for a business oportunity

If you want to sell cook books I would suggest doing it online at first. Kiosk are very expensive. Lets use the example above of $6,000 a month. If you were selling them for $29.95 at a 100% mark-up you would be make $14.95 per copy, which is ok. However, you would have to sell 402 cook books every month just to hit your nut. That number may be obtainable but keep in mind this is a generic break even point.

If you see something that we don't then go for it but I would be prepared for your cuz not to like you in 90 days.
