A man who was hit by a tram while walking home from work, was given a second shock when the ambulance taking him to hospital was struck by a car.

Donnie Mack Hall walked into the path of the tram as he returned from work on Houston's Reliant Stadium. The tram was doing about 20mph when it hit the 60-year-old. A Metro train spokesman said Hall was supposed to be wearing two hearing aids, but instead was wearing only one - and it was in the ear facing away from the approaching train.

The ambulance carrying Mr Hall to a local hospital was then hit by a car, leaving him to complete his journey in a second ambulance.

Mr Hall was treated for cuts, bruises and a broken finger before being released, says the San Antonio Express News.

No point in asking HIM for 6 numbers between 1 and 49 then eh

I thought I had bad days.

All I can say is he is one unlucky man or it was just a bad day for him.

Did his karma run over his dogma too??

I now have a new found pleasure in sitting at home working. The few extra kg i put on are not of any concern any more

It would have been truly ironic if the second ambulance had a collision with a tow truck that was on the way to the scene of the first collision with the ambulance...

Makes me very thankful to work from home. Not as thankful as the fact that I haven't had the top come off my travel mug, spilling steaming hot coffee in my lap, since I gave up the daily commute, but thankful nonetheless
