What do you think to all your questions as I would say you are in the best position to answer them all. I always took freelancing to be a long term project, something which needs to develope over a long time. If you feel you are in a position to give up your day job a rely on what is a very fluctuating money earner then good luck to you.

I am not sure that I could earn the money that I do in my full-time job from being a full-time freelancer. So, at present, I am trying to "dip my toe in the water" and wondering whether it is something that I could do part-time. This would mean that I still have the back-up of a regular income.

The problem with me is that i know the way to earn decent amount doing freelaning but i cannot withdraw those money. Since most of people use paypal for payment and paypal does not suport the place where i live so its pretty hard for me to get hard cash. I can use other methods though but that does not help in long run. It might seeem a small problem but whats the use of working if u cant get money in your hand.

I do some freelancing online. However, I find that it doesnt pay all that well (with India becoming an Internet superpower and 14 year old kids willing to work for $3/hour). If you do freelance, I would sugguest you have a website and almost make it a mini business. Youll look more professional, serious, and its a way for potential customers to see your work and contact you.

I think it's possible to freelance fulltime, but you've got to be pretty smart about it. Like entrepeneur says, you're competing against some cheap labor. You have to work towards the higher-end jobs rather than the cheap ones or you'll be working 80 hours a week.
