Default Working at Home.

Does anyone else find they end up working LONGER hours because they can't punch out and go home when you already ARE at home?
This summer I made almost NO money and got very little done because I had my 3 kids home from school for the summer as well. The good news is someday they might actually grow up and leave home!

Yeppir...and not only can you not punch out, the distractions are endless. I always wait until my child is sound asleep before starting anything these days, but still I find myself multitasking myself into a chaotic state.

I find the problem with working at home is that I cant seem to tear my self away from the TV.

I end up getting so distracted by the following things - Smoking, getting a drink, getting food, answering the phone.

Most of them things I wouldn’t do in the office, plus there is loads more distractions just didn’t want to list them all!

For me, in addition to snacks, it's surfing. I keep looping looking at other things, like Real Estate, when I should be working. And I just can't stop.

I have excatly the same problem. I get so distracted by stupid little things that I know wouldn't happen in a real office. I also have three kids at home and we have a small home, so I don't even have an office that I can go and hide in. One of these days when we buy a bigger house, that is my first priority. My own space!!

I think having your own space, which you can proof from distractions is the best way to go.

My 'office' is currently in the living room, and guess what happens to be here... The TV!

Not a good thing I tell you.

I can't tell you how glad I am to hear your stories...I thought I had just developed some sort of ADD in my old age.

I've been getting most of my freelance stuff done during down time at my real job these days...*shhhhhh*

I work from home officially two days a week. I am lucky enough to have my own study with my computer and papers in it. However, I find it quite difficult to drag myself away to have a "life".

Anyone who thought working at home was a "cushy number" is sadly mistaken. I have to remind myself to take breaks!
