Default Small business ( Importing from China )

I am seriously thinking to start a small importing business from China to Greece. I have not decided yet the product that I will import but I have some ideas for small products in order to have affordable orders at first. I need help if anyone of you has a similar company in his country all over the world in order to advise me.

I have to say that right now I have a capital of only € 5000. I believe that this is too low capital but the wages in Greece are very low and I will never manage to get rich as an employer. I like entrepreneurship for many reasons and I have to start something good, with that low capital. Please help me with your ideas and business suggestions.

Furthermore I would prefer at first to start my business at my free time because I need the money from my morning job.

Summer 2006 I will graduate from my MBA program, and I would like to start a very small business. I have a little experience from importing practices duo to my present job and my first degree is in accounting and finance.

With only € 5000 you can't possibly be an importer of goods from China or anywhere. Just forget it. Instead focus on being a retailer for the types of goods that you want to import. Sell items of interest to whoever and gain an experience, build your level of savings from your profits so you can eventually bring small quantities of items from China. But let me tell you that the biggest profits are in retailing items (at a small level).

Of course if you are importing big quantities of items from somewhere then you will make good profits.

Consider business as a series of stepping stones, step up to a gentle height, take another stone a bit higher and keep going like that.
