Default questions about Advertising in Newsletters?

I hope everybody's enjoying their eggnog, uh I mean Christmas

Can you please tell me of your experiences of advertising in newsletters:
costs
how target was the market
what was the market size
were the results positive or a learning experience
how fast were the results
etc.

thanks

Are you talking about making your own newsletter and sending it out to your customers and prospects? Or talking about putting a paid spot into somebody elses (sp?) newsletter?

The main problem with doing your own is they never get done in a timily manner. You start out doing fine but then in a month or two you find it harder and harder to figure out what you want to say.

On the other hand if you put your ad into somebodyelse's (sp?) newsletter then it is much more likily to get done and mailed out on time.

The way I rank newsletter ads is just above newspapers. The ads will be much more targeted so that makes them much better. So instead of spending $75 for a small ad which goes to 15,000 subscribers you will spend $100 for an ad which goes to 1,000 subscribers. What a rip off, uh? Well maybe not. When you consider that the 1,000 are people who have purchased garden supplies from a local hardware store and you are a local greenhouse. Then you probably will see much higher response than with the 15,000.

good luck
