Default Tech Articles for marketing

Hi,

I believe direct marketing using tech articles is a good marketing strategy. Rather than bombarding them with useless sales info, a good article on let say, Virus threats, or how to properly manage a network can be a good way to learn and at the same time learn about our servcies. I'm not a good writer nor have the time to do this among the thousands of tasks I got to do my business.

Where I can get such articles so I can use it for my business? Given the popularity of IT, I don't see why you have to reinvent the wheel.

Like to hear your thoughts on this type of marketing.

You must not get much spam these days. Your ideas are old, tried, proven, and now easy to see through even amongst all the sexual and medicine ads.

I can't see how a truely useful tech article be spam? I guess if I was a business owner and was concerned about virus infection on my systems, I would be interested in reading article on that. It's like free advice.

Simply hire people to write articles for you.

What I believe Pronet is talking about leans more to the newsletter side not to the sales letter. Newsletters are very good marketing devices. Just about everyone should be using newletters, especailly to their exsisting customers.

Speaking quite broadly, this technique works well. That's because editorial writing (i.e., articles) is perceived to be much more credible than sales copy.
Print newsletters or email e-zines, as long as they offer genuinely valuable information without the sales pitch, are a great way to position yourself as an expert and give people ideas about what the solutions might be. That's why so many big companies use newsletters, either print or electronic. Over time, they really work. I began my own e-zine in the summer and have been surprised to see such fast results - I've acquired two new clients and stimulated some inactive ones to contact me for new projects.

Is there a depository of such articles where they can be purchased for reprint/reuse? Hire someone to do looks like a costly thing to do and again I'm sure such articles are already out there.
