I'd say this isn't legit.

Text messaging advertising is an established deal in Europe, just as they say. And it is bound to be a rapidly growing addition to the advertising field here in the US. What they say about it is correct.

And they are using Multi-Level Marketing to quickly enter the market - if they are legit. Or, they are just trying to get some quick cash if they are not.

So, the market is there. MIM is a sometimes legitimate way to get a quick foothold in an expanding market. So, that could be OK.

But MLM is also infamous for bleeding those who can least afford it. So, you should investigate the company. The market is there. Can you sell? Are you comfortable making cold calls, not just on the phone, but walking into businesses? That is probably what it will take to sell this.

And will they be around to back up your sales?

There are several companies beginning to promote the text messaging ads. If you feel like it is something you could sell, do some digging on them. I'd say the outlook for that market segment if great. Colllege deli's, lunch shops in office areas, etc. Bars with happy hour specials. Many people are closer to their cell phone than they are to their "significant other". Take advantage of it.

Just read this article about text messaging adoption in the US this morning. Thought I would share.

On thing to keep in mind.. The United States congress is considerring a ban on unrequested text advertising. This is because most cell phone subscribers do not have an unlimted text plan (nor want it!).

The program in question requires the person receiving the messages to opt in.

Plus, it will probably be as effective as the Can Spam Act. I still get a couple of hundred emails a day.
