Default MLM(Network Marketing)

Well i just want to get your thoughts on this one. I'm currently thinking in the possibilities in joining it. If i end up joining I will first start it up as a part-time job then if it goes well probably do it full time. I know that there are many people out there that view this job/business as a scam, but that is not true in all cases and to scam other people won't be my intentions, i just want to clear that out. I want to know if there are any people in here that are in it or that have been? If so what industry did you choose under network marketing (Home/Family Care,Personal Care Products etc.) ? Any other comments are welcomed.

What I would suggest you do is look for a company to join that actually sells products... many MLM companies promote the opportunity first and foremost with the product almost a secondary item. I would look for a company structured so that the vast majority of people were making their money from the sale of product rather than from the sale of the opportunity.

Many many years ago I used to belong to Worldwide group which redefined the marketing and sales of Amway products. Quite honestly, from my own experience, I put more money in than I actually got out. BUT, there is something else that I learned that was more beneficial than the money... It was the person-to-person relationship strategies, character building exercises, and the whole positive environment I was in.

Well,

As a Network Marketer that makes a decent income, the Idea of Network Marketing being a scam Is just word of mouth from people who joined, expected to make $5,000 overnight then quit and say It doesn't work.

Network Marketing works, you need to have a system in place to market It and If you don't use the right system and target the right people you can expect to fail. NM Is like is all about DUPLICATION, that's the most important part to NM, If you can't duplicate your success through people, expect to fail. So you have to have a advertising system that will not only find people for your business but can also help the people you find, find people.

I tried them all, potions, lotions, pills, everything... and I learned alot about NM through those trial and errors, so It still does depend on your product, but NM Is not about companies or products, It's about people, people join people not companies...

Terrance nobody but you mentioned Network marketing as being a scam, all that was mentioned was the desire not to scam people

My own personal opinions are

The vast majority of MLM or if you prefer Network Marketing opportunities fail to deliver adequate compensation for the number of hours worked.

Some are set-up purely to market their services on an ongoing basis to members...

Some are pure scams, designed to allow some people to make lots of money quickly before they close down

Some have overpriced products and services that people would be better off buying elsewhere at much reduced prices

Some have exactly what they say, they have products, services and if worked you can make some income.
My advise to anyone considering MLM/Network Marketing is to be careful, do your homework and expect to work long hard hours... nothing in life comes without hard work... not even success with MLM. I would also study a companies terms and conditions as some MLM companies have been known to cancel an active members membership rather than pay them their commission cheque.

Steve, I understand what you are saying, and I am not trying to insult anyone... but I just wanted to clear that myself because I hear so much people crying about network marketing, I make decent money with network marketing? Enough that I never have to work again... Why? I work Smarter, not harder... There is time involved in building a network marketing business but you don't have to work hard you have to work smart, the same way someone trains hard to become a doctor, you have to train hard in network marketing... It's gotten a bad name over the years and you are right steve, there are companies that will scam you, but less likely.. Like you said you have to do your homework before you join any company... You can't join a network marketing program then expect to use a free traffic exchange to build your business, unless you are the top recruiter...
