i'm planning on starting my own website selling and i came up with a list of pricing and service providers from the net.

Please give me some suggestions and advice.

i bought most of my site building from godaddy.com.

Domain name : $1.99/yr
Website tonite (website builder) : $12.99/Mth
Turbo SSL cert (free with above/yr)
Traffic Blazer (Increase Traffic) : 29.99/yr
Express Email Marketing Premium - 5,000 Emails per month : $19.99
Total : $64.96

For the Shopping Cart options, since i come from malaysia, i can't register for the US Merchant and the international ones are ridiculously expensive.
so i turned to other online Shopping Cart Options.

EmartCart Platinum member : $33.95/mth

i chose emartcart cos they provide affiliates program intergrated into their shopping cart, so anybody can promote my product.

Monthly upkeep: $33.95 + $32.98 = $66.93

The only problem now is the Shipping options, it's damn expensive for me to ship overseas with UPS, Fedex but using my own countries "POSLAJU", in the shopping cart options i don't think you get to use your own shipping company.....anyone having experiences in selling products online in Malaysia???

Do you think it is wise to start up like this?? i only have 3 products to sell......... they're handmade greeting cards unique.

You may want to take a look at oscommerce for this. It's open source under general public license, so it will cost you nothing. It has decent documentation so installation is not so bad, and if you know a little php (or are able to learn), making customizations is more than possible.

greeting card are a very wishy-washy business and it past christmas soo its not even worth it now , maybe next year.

You could look at some affiliate programs so that you could sell more products through your website. I think that if you only have three items to sell then it won't end up doing very well.
