Default Email list building do's and don'ts.

Hey everybody,

I've recently begun building an opt-in email list for a pretty specific purpose (sending out a sample high paying keyword daily).

Would it be considered "bad etiquette" to add an advertisement below the sample in each email, or is that an acceptable practice?

Hey NewsGuy!

Are you talking about having an ad in your daily mailing? If so, that's pretty much expected in any newsletter.

But you said you're "building" a list, and I wonder if you mean adding an ad in your own email ad campaign. If this is the case, I wouldn't recommend doing that since you're trying to get people interested in what you're offering.

Did that answer your question?

nothing wrong with adding an ad in your newsletter. If the ads arent too intrusive and dont get confused with content, then I wouldnt call it "bad etiquette" at all.

I think people are going to expect to see some kind of advertising in a newsletter. As mvd mentioned, keep the quality content to ad ratio high and don't confuse your readers.
