Just remember that your credit card may not be issued by your bank and you may need to inform the credit card company direct! Your new card will be issued with new numbers anyway just remember not to change them to those of your stolen card.
Lastly phone the police and report the theft after all it is a crime. You will in the UK need a crime number to claim if your card is used by thieves!

Immediately inform your bank and ask them to block all the transaction coming from the stolen card. Then, change your credit card information in websites like ebay or paypal if you used them. If it is a debit card, withdraw all the money from it to another account and ask the bank to block the card.

This is very good advice. Just remember to change your numbers immediately.
Also, some credit cards give you the ability to use temporary numbers when shopping online. This may prevent your number from being stolen from a database or other online methods of data theft.

Default who pays?

Somebody stole my credit card number about 2 months ago, and they used a card with my numbers but their name and ID picture was on the card. Well when i saw my bank statement i freaked out, the bank eventually took care of the problem and i got a new card and that one was cancelled. My question is who ends up paying for all the stuff that the theif purchased?
