Normally people go to the jewelry shops, spend a lot of time and carefully select jewels. If it is an online shop, they dont have the real experience and trust on the products. If you have an online shop, people are searching various jewels at their leisure time and later may come to your shop to purchase.

well the jewlery store would be for specialty jewels, targeting a specific consumer group that knows what they are looking for. Although i do agree that buying jewelry online really takes away from the experience.
As the others have mentioned, an online jewelry store would be tough, but there are ways to do it. One option would be to sell custom made jewelry that is featured on different artists and jewelers websites and then contacting those folks about selling their jewelry on your site. If you could avoid actually holding the inventory, it would be much easier.
i thing selling jewelry online basically reselling it, it's a hard bizz, look at ebay they have so much jewelry its unbelievable, having your on online jewelry store your going to be competing with ebay and everybody else.
