Default Starting on Low Capital.

...Looking for reasonable gains.

Hi All

As usual i am on the look out for a new idea. I have approx. $10,000 in capital. And am looking for at least a ROI within 12months, which i dont think should be to difficult. But i am looking for somthing that is going to be able to help produce some cash reserves to build a great business in the near future (5 years or so).

I am really looking for a service business, which offers somthing that many need, and are willing to pay for weather it is a large profit per job or not isnt a problem, i just want something different to IT for a while.

thanks for any ideas you have. Btw i have based my capital available on the fact that it often can take considerablly more then that is expected to start a business, so i do have more money available i just dont want to get part way through planning and find the money needed is way more then expected.

Start a landscaping business. My friend's 19. He took $6000 out of his college money for equipment and advertising. He started, got some money, hired some people, and is now making more than his mom and dad combined! He's the biggest inspiration ever in my life. You have enough money to start A LOT of companys. The plan is.. What do you like? If you don't like it, it's going to go down in flames.

Try investing in real estate. If mortgages are easy to come by in Australia as in the USA, you should be able to pick up a property around $200,000 with your $10,000 down. Maybe buy a house that's needing a bit of work, fix it up, sell for a profit.

This is a good idea. My house is initially on property that had one house, but a total of four were built on the land and each section sold very well. It was just an individual who bought the property, but he ended up making quite a nice profit. He did multiple projects like this.

How far away from IT do you want to go with this? I'd personally recommend staying in IT (as its best to work on what you are good at, and with what you know).

Aside from IT, all I could recommend at this stage is probably investing in shares, or selling something. Import a popular product and sell online etc.

If you are looking for service oriented ideas, check out franchises and modify one that fits your interests. There are many options for a $10k investment. You don't have to reinvent the wheel, there are alot of ideas to chose from. Passive income is your best bet. Check out franchise sites to get some good business ideas. They ask you how much you want to spend which gives you an idea as to how much it would cost to open that type of business. Interested in real estate? Check out HUD homes for sale in low income areas...you will be surprised what $10k can buy. Good luck and have fun!!
