Default New Pc Buisness

My brother and I are starting a custom pc business, and we were wondering if
STIX Computers or Hydra Computers would be easier to remember. We believe this is a very good time to do so because Alienware and Dell are merging, leaving only one or two other major custom pc retailers. We plan to sell our computers for cheaper then Dell. We also will make more processing intensive pc’s then Dell, giving someone a reason to buy from us, rather then them. After we launch in a month or two, we plan to start some extreme advertising campaigns to get our name out there quick. Once again, is STIX Computers or Hydra Computers more memorable?

Dont want to knock your idea, but Dell is not merging with Alienware. Alienware will still remain as seperate brand. It will just be owned by Dell and gain access to Dell's supply chain.

Another point - competing with Dell on price sounds like bad idea. I discourage all of my clients from competing on price. Its a brutal playing field where profit margins disintegrate and customer loyalty is non-existent.

Dell is vulnerable - as are most of your competitors - in service and quality.

All the best,

Hello, Are you opening your own brand of computer?
Or are you selling brands of computers?

Hydra links with water and STIX sounds like a complicated operating system like UNIX. I think you should go for a name of a fierce animal or something for example SpiderWare or AnacondaWare. Out of those two though I would go for Hydra...

If those are the two options I prefer Stix but keep looking. Wasn't Styx a band?

You're absolutely right. Read blunder #5 in this article http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/12135088/

Throw a bunch of letters in a hat (you can buy them at a hardware store) and just pick out five then fiddle with those five until you get an attactive word... if you aren't happy, then just do it again. Call it the 'name-game' and invite 20 of your mates over to your house to play it.

Supply vast quantities of beer and pizza and I would guess that about their 7th beer each your mates and you would have found a great name...

Problem:
After all that beer will any of you remember the name?

Solution:
Get all your mates girlfriends to stay sober (coz they are invited too) and video the whole proceedings.

I'm sure you'll come up with a great name. Is that method called brainstorming?

Answer:
No. It's called beer-storming.... hahahahahahhha
