How much money can you look to collect from vending machines and how much do they cost? Does anyone do the vending machine thing?

I have a friend who has many vending machines, everything from chocolates to coffee to prepacked sandwiches, bubble gum. I remember him telling me that it is hard to tell if a machine is going to do well until you actually place it.
Hospitals he said are the better place for the prepacked sandwiches etc. but require a lot of work to keep the products fresh
The ones he has in shopping centres are usually chocolates or game type machine he said these take in a lot of cash but it also costs him a lot in floor space, rent.

He does nothing else, as far as how much he makes out of them he wouldnt tell me cause he was too busy concentrating on driving his brand new ski boat.

Vending machines are definitely a nice source of income if you place them wisely. One of my buddies works for a car dealership and there is a guy that makes six-digit income with just those candy machines that cost a quarter. He just has them set up all over the place and keeps tabs on how well each one is doing. If one isn't cutting it, he pulls it and replaces. Vending machines may seem easy enough, but they are a business of their own and take the time and patience, as well as hard work, that any other type of business takes.
