I have no idea what something like that should cost.

As an alternative...

You have put a lot of work into your web site.
What if you put the images up on your site in a gallery that allows the viewer to purchase them.

1. you only have to print what's ordered.
2. you could probably offer all images as apposed to only offering the best.
3. the increased traffic to your site will help to showcase your other products.
4. you will have more options for ways to sell the images, framed, matted and framed, etc.

Just a thought,

that is sure an option..and i know it could add lots of hits to the site.....but the images are really wanted and i dont really want to have them on the site where someone else could print them off and do what im trying to do..im thinking about that problem maybe explore watermarks etc..for now i could print a couple on our now in section....that is a popular spot on our site.....i have 200 + cards of our lake and will definitely do something on the site ...later...for now i want the booklet for the lake customers in the store....then i want everything that cafe press has..... the cards are so neat, and i have a lot to choose from...
i would love to have the invention machine mentioned a few days ago...an ebook that couldnt be copied.... that would be nice....

I'm a little late getting in on this post, however, your thought of an ebook that no one could copy is feasible. You can encrypt a pdf now so that only the owner can open it and once opened it can only be viewed on their pc.

From what you described, you may find 1000's willing to buy through ClickBank what you originally thought of selling in very small quanitites to the locals.

Finally, you may want to consider scanning the images and creating your digital booklet and having a limited edition quantity printed at Kinko's or other fast service printer. Once done, they can bind them with a plastic spiral for a very professional look. I did this with an 80 page family history and the results were perfect for less than $10 each.

thanks...where i am now is considering a booklet under 10$ from lulu......but im making a note of your ebook comments for later.... the newspaper has allowed me to put in their stories on the different subjects...
this is so local i doubt if thousands would be interested.....im checking out the click site tho....it was kind of a historic roaring 20s lake resort, with booze, boats, bands , party islands etc etc ..

now our rehabb ideas would appeal to thousands...and thats another idea...we are deep into that and pretty well known for it.and we have tons of pictures of our finished things.....and the idea is all over hgtv all the time...so maybe after this lake project i will know lots more about the possibilities and try an ebook or another booklet to add to my site.....

It doesn't really matter, a few colors or full color, it's all going to be the same unless it's set up as a spot color and printed on a press vs. digital. In any case, with only 100, it won't matter much in any direction - it will be about .50 per 8.5x11 for a full color digital print on each side from your local Kinkos, Staples or Sir Speedy, so $1 per 2 sided page.
