I own a web hosting company. I am searching around for a peice of software that will do the following, any help you guys can provide would be much appreciated I would prefer the software does the following:

1. Customer / Client information database management

2. create printable invoices for mail-in payment customers

3. track monthly & yearly revenue

4. Manage products (not inventory though)

I do not know what may be suited for you (by istinct I'd jumpstart programming Access in such a case), but maybe a post here

may be of help.

We used to use ACT! at my last company, but I'm hearing more and more complaints about it. FileMaker Pro seems to be gaining some poularity, though. I think there's another one called AlphaFive (or Alpha 5) that is also getting some good buzz.

Jim there are alot of programs out there to handle what you need for a hosting business. Which one is best for you will depend a little on how much you want to spend and what features you need.

I'm currently using one called clientexec which is working fine for me though it does lack a few features I would have liked. I think it cost $125

Another comparable priced billing manager is whmautopilot which has a few more features and works especially well if you use whm/cpanel on your server.

modernbill probably has the most features and also the highest price tag. I have heard it's harder to setup, but once setup people seem to find it easy to use.

If you go to webhosting talk forum and search for billing manager there's a lot of posts on many more with a lot and I mean a lot of opinions. I found the best thing to do was visit the sites for each. Most have a demo you can explore.

I've tried Sugar CRM, but the open source version does not come with the quoting nor the invoicing module, but vTiger CRM includes this, plus a product section and it even has a separate module to track expenses.

Best of all it's FREE. It is working very well for me. You can check it at:
